About Ocean Cure and the Hurricanes Sled Hockey Surf Camp Partnership

Ocean Cure is a Carolina Beach-based nonprofit with a mission centered on finding freedom through surfing. Since 2008, the organization has helped hundreds of participants facing physical and life challenges get into the water — many for the very first time — building confidence, community, and a renewed sense of what's possible.

For the third year running, Ocean Cure is joined by the Hurricanes Sled Hockey Team for its Fearless Summer Surf Camp. This partnership pairs two groups doing similar work in different arenas: giving athletes with disabilities the chance to compete, play, and experience new adventures without limits. Bringing the sled hockey team out onto the sand and into the surf turns the camp into a true celebration of adaptive athletics — on ice and in the ocean alike.
